Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be singled out or asked to stand up as a visitor?

No. You won’t be asked to stand up or be singled out. You’re welcome to come in, find a seat, and participate as much (or as little) as you’re comfortable with.

We observe communion each Sunday. If you’re visiting, you’re welcome to participate if you’d like—many do. If you’d rather not, that’s completely okay too; you can simply pass the tray along.

We do take an offering, but guests are not expected to give. Our members give to support the work of the church—your presence is what matters most.

Why do you sing a cappella (without instruments)?

We sing a cappella as a simple way to focus on worshiping God together through congregational singing, following the pattern we see in the New Testament. Many visitors find it meaningful and refreshing.

Yes. Children are welcome to stay with their parents in worship. We also offer age-appropriate Bible classes (Nursery through 12th grade) if that’s helpful for your family.

A great first step is to introduce yourself on Sunday—we’ll help you find a Bible class that fits your stage of life. You can also reach out anytime at info@honolulucoc.org or call (808) 536-7952, and we’ll connect you with ongoing classes and ways to get involved.
