Frequently Asked Questions
Will someone help me meet people if I come alone?
Yes. If you come on your own, you won’t be left on your own—our greeters and members are happy to help you get oriented, introduce you to others, and make sure you have a friendly connection before you leave.
If I watch online first, what’s the best next step to visit in person?
That’s a great way to start. After you watch, the best next step is to plan a Sunday visit—arrive a few minutes early, and let a greeter know you’re new to Oʻahu so we can help you find where to go and introduce you to a few people.
How do I get connected beyond Sundays?
A simple next step is to join our Wednesday Bible study, come to a monthly potluck, or join an island hike—those are easy environments to meet people and build friendships quickly. You can also contact us and we’ll help you find the best fit based on your stage of life.
How do kids and teens make friends when they’re new?
Kids and teens connect quickly through age-based Bible classes on Sundays and youth gatherings during the month. We also have a Wednesday youth meeting during Bible study that helps students prepare for Bible Bowl by learning what the Scriptures mean (not just memorizing), which naturally builds friendships and confidence.
Can I come just to observe, even if I’m not sure what I believe yet?
Absolutely. Many people visit first to listen, observe, and ask questions. You’re welcome to come as you are and explore at a comfortable pace.
How can I serve or get involved once I’m settled?
There are many ways to serve, from helping with hospitality and welcoming newcomers to supporting kids and youth programs. After you visit a few times, talk with us or send a note and we’ll help you find a meaningful place to plug in.
